TED NUGENT's Breach-Of-Contract Suit Gets Underway
March 22, 2005Grand Rapids, Michigan's WOOD-TV is reporting that Ted Nugent's breach-of-contract lawsuit against the Muskegon Summer Celebration festival has gone to trial.
The court hearing got under way today in Muskegon County Circuit Court.
A jury was selected, the lawyers gave their opening statements and the first witness testified.
The trial is expected to continue until at least March 30th.
The 56-year-old Detroit native — who now lives in Crawford, Texas — sued the festival after it canceled his planned concert appearance in June of 2003.
Nugent sued after news outlets reported that he allegedly used racial slurs while referring to blacks and Asians earlier that year during a live radio interview in Denver.
He has denied making such remarks.
